There are a lot of rumours circulating the web at the moment, mainly about what features the iPad 3 is going to have, however I believe the main question on everybody’s lips is how much will the iPad 3 cost?
Now we all know that the current iPad 2 isn’t a cheap bit of kit, starting at £399/$499 and a lot of you might be thinking that with tablet sales increasing and tablet pricing decreasing that this would also apply to the next generation iPad 3. However we believe you would be wrong in thinking this, if we look at the new features the iPad 3 is rumoured to have – a new slimline battery that lasts even longer than its predecessors, reportedly costing apple 30% more, a retina display with twice as many pixels as before. These two huge features alone are enough to bump up the price of the iPad 3 let alone smaller features such as expandable memory, higher mega-pixel camera and much more.
Now obviously Apple still need to stay competitive to the market and we imagine they will take most of the hit on the increase in manufacturing costs, however even with this considered they are still going to need to increase the cost of the iPad 3 to us, the customers.
